Pioneering Food Equity & Ecological Diets. Real Food. Real Impact.

What is FEED

FEED is a product portfolio offering a range of products combining wild venison with plant-based ingredients including UK-grown legumes, vegetables, herbs and spices to create nutritious, sustainable, and affordable food solutions. We are not replacing meat. We are redefining it for human and environmental health.

Ecological Regeneration

Wild venison comes from free-ranging overpopulation of deer that are wreaking havoc in our forests and farmland. FEED turns this ecological challenge into a nutritious and delicious food resource. Blending venison with plant based ingredients, FEED reduces reliance on feedlots, industrial farming and antibiotics while delivering taste, texture and nutrition.

  • Lower carbon intensity

  • Reduced land-use pressure

  • Supports balanced ecosystems

Our Story

FEED was born from UKRI funded research led by the University of Exeter (firstly ESRC funded doctoral scholarship to Dr Fatma Sabet (2019-2023), then UKRI Multidisciplinary Food System Catalyst Award (2025-2026).

We are an interdisciplinary team of social and bioscience researchers who came together at the UKRI Multidisciplinary Food System Commercialisation Catalyst Sandpit (July 2025).

The idea emerged from Dr Fatma Sabet’s PhD research on school food systems, piloting the first sustainable school meal intervention introducing blended meat products (part meat part legumes and vegetables) and subsequent collaboration with Professor Naomi Sykes at the University of Exeter.

What began as a research insight, blending wild venison with plant-based ingredients, has become a practical, scalable solution for public meals.

By combining expertise across systems thinking, nutrition and product development, sustainability, food systems and supply chains, we’ve taken FEED from concept to market-ready product in under six months.
