Local councils all over the country are declaring climate emergency because we face impending climate, biodiversity and economic collapse. Animal agriculture is responsible for:
To address climate change we must address the food we eat.
It's time to rethink our food system
Feed our Future aims to address the climate emergency starting with the food on our school plates. We’re working with councils to encourage the switch from emission heavy foods to plant-based ones that are better for the health of our children and health of our planet. We are helping the next generation of young people to learn to eat sustainably.
How We Can Help Your Council
Even just one plant-based day per week in schools will be a huge step towards meeting our climate targets to stay below 1.5 ºC. Education is about more than a curriculum. It's about teaching people how to live. One plant-based meal will give the school community an opportunity to try new ways of eating, laying the foundation for a more conscious relationship to food and the natural eco-systems we rely on.
We will be assisting councils to make the transition to plant-based food procurement by supporting them in various ways: menu consultations, retraining of chefs and caterers, PR support, impact assessment and more. Please fill in the contact form below and a member of our team will be in touch to discuss how we can support your council, school or college.
